Biography
Francis was the son of John Tidmarsh and Mary Eagar.
Like his brothers he ran a woollen drapery business, his was in Cork.[1] He went bankrupt in 1829,[2] but pursued several business ventures in Ireland and England thereafter. A notice from 1860 referred to him as a clothier.[3]
He married Mary, the third daughter of Samuel Cox, in 1819.[4][5] Known children of theirs are:
- John Francis, eldest son, born 1824,[6][7] married Sophia Birch
- Samuel, baptised 1826
- James, baptised 1830, married Georgina Flood
- Anna
- Mary, second daughter, married John Lyster
- Elizabeth, youngest daughter, married Alfred Tanner
Francis died aged 94 at Rathmines near Dublin in January 1885.[8][9]
