At the 1900 census, George was five or six years old (The enumerator recorded six, but a five was written over it to match the stated birthdate.) and living in Kalamazoo Precinct, Madison County, Nebraska, with his parents and siblings Lizzie, Frank, Nellie, Marie, and John as well as his grandmothers Ida Tierney and Elizabeth Knapp, his uncles Andrew and Frank Tierney, and a boarder, Edward Rhoades.[3]
At the 1910 census, George was living in Boone County, Nebraska, with his parents and siblings Frank, Nellie, Marie, John, Laura, Stella, and Grace as well as an unrelated woman, Emma Score.[4]
At the 1920 census, George and Elsie were living in Grant Township, Antelope County, Nebraska, with their sons Harold, Francis, and Robert.[7]
In 1930, the family was living in Cedar Township, Antelope County, Nebraska.[8]
At the 1940 census, George and Elsie were living in Union Township, Humboldt County, California, with six of their children.[9]
At the 1950 census, George and Elsie were living in Oakdale, Nebraska, with their daughter.[10]
George died on October 13, 1970, at the Tilden Hospital in Tilden, Nebraska.[11] According to the Social Security Death Index, his last residence was Oakdale.[12] Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery in Oakdale, Antelope County, Nebraska.[13]
