Emil Tigerstrand was the son of John Tigerstrand and his wife Sofia Christina Rosenqvist. He was born on March 29, 1852 in Arby parish in Kalmar län, Sweden.[1]

He emigrated to the US with his father in 1883. They departed from Mattsmyra in Voxna parish, Gävleborgs län, Sweden on June 13, 1883.

Emil died on 13 August 1938 in Portland.[2] He was buried in Douglass Pioneer Cemetery, Troutdale, Multnomah County, Oregon, United States.[3]

Despite the 10 year difference in age 1852/1863 and location: California/Orgeon) this is likely to be Klas Otto Emil Tigerstrand born 1852 in Kalmar, Sweden. He was married to Helen McLain(McClain who passed away in 1914.
