Biography

Lydia Matilda Tilton was born on December 25, 1868 in Andrew, Missouri, USA[1][2]. Her parents were Roswell Spencer Tilton (1831 - 1900) and Persis Ann (Wood) Tilton (1835 - 1902).

When Lydia was 21 she married William Henry Creitz on 15 October 1890 in Mitchell, Kansas, USA[3].

As an infant, Lydia (known as "Tillie", or "Til") moved with her family to Rochester, Andrew, Missouri, USA. Residence Post Office: Whitesville.[4]She grew up there and continued living in Missouri[5] until 1884 when her parents homesteaded in Center Township, Mitchell County, Kansas[6].

After her marriage, Lydia and William continued to live in Center township[7].

At the age of 28 yrs, 11 mo. and 11 days, Lydia died from Tuberculosis on 11 December 1897 in Beloit, Mitchell, Kansas, USA[8]. She was buried at Pleasant View Cemetery, south of Beloit, Kansas[9][10]

  2. William Harold "Harold" Creitz was born on 02 Oct 1896 in Beloit, Mitchell, Kansas, USA. He died on 13 Sep 1962 in Topeka, Shawnee, Kansas, USA.
