Biography
Elijah Tilton was born about 1749. His approximate birth year is calculated from his reported age of "58. yrs." on the date of his death, which occurred on November 3, 1807, per the vital records of Philadelphia on November 3, 1807. He is buried in Philadelphia at the Second Baptist Cemetery.
Research Notes
1) Caution: Several individuals named Elijah Tilton were living at the same time including in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; New York; Hatfield, Massachusetts; and New Brunswick causing opportunities for conflation.
2) It is conceivable that this Elijah is the same person as Elijah Tilton born after 1740 to John Tilton, but the total absence of evidence connecting them currently precludes a merge.
