Biography

David Timberlake was born 25 Jun 1833 in New Kent, Virginia, the son of David and Elizabeth Timberlake. [1]

Birth

David was born on June 25, 1833 [2], in Virginia (confirmed with census records).

David was in Alabama in 1861. There is a marriage about two hours away in Mississippi for a D. A. Timberlake and Miss M. M. Duncan, 10 Nov 1868.[3] The marriage bonds aren't available online after 1865. Alcorn County was formed in 1870 from portions of Tippah and Tishomingo counties, so those can be checked (The old bonds were from Tishomingo County). (Silva-1055 11:58, 30 January 2021 (UTC))

Research Notes

  • Needs source for birth date - found it, it is in Confederate Census of 1907 [2] Weatherall-96 22:24, 31 January 2021 (UTC)
  • Working to confirm identity of parents David and Elizabeth (per 1850 census) Weatherall-96 18:38, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
  • Needs Marriage record, possible parents?
  • Needs death record, possible parent names
  • Needs write up/sources for Civil War service/imprisonment --> I found confirming information for all mentioned Civil War experiences. The only items that did not line up was the original unsourced reference saying parole of March 1865 as opposed to the sourced reference of July 15 1865, as end of POW term.
