CAUTION: Year of birth per attached census records: 1850 - 1836; 1860 - 1837; 1870 - 1840; 1900 - 1845. OH Death records, FindAGrave, and BillionGraves all show year of birth of 1836.
His name was "Edward Linson" from the Ohio death records of their daughter Jessie Morgan Linson and "Edward T Linson" from the Ohio State and County death records of their daughter Rebecca (Linson) Dye.
He died before 1900. On the 1900 census Rebecca Timmons Linson is shown as widowed and living with her brother Cyrus and her daughter Jessie Sinson. THIS CENSUS record shows her as born in April 1945.
He was alive at least as late as 1871 as the last identified child was born in January 1872.
Rebecca and Edward likely married between 1850 and 1860 based on census records. First child appears to have been born in 1857.
Rebecca's husband appears to have been much older than her. The 1860 and 1870 census records show him as born in 1819/1818 making him at least 17 years older than Rebecca.
The person linked on FindAGrave has a birth dated that doesn't make sense due to dates of birth. It was likely Rebecca's son rather than her husband. The link has since fortunately been removed.
FamilySearch shows her husband as born in 1840 with no sources. The date makes more sense but conflicts with the census records.
A POSSIBLE FindAGrave memorial for Rebecca's husband is: Find A Grave: Memorial #186969058.
It seems quite likely that in the late 1880s or early 1890s, Rebecca and Edward's sons Irvin and Cyrus headed to California. What appears to be them are listed one after the other on a "California Great Register" dated Voter Registration listing dated 20 Oct 1892 as "Speculator" from Ohio with appropriate ages with residences of 1266 Ionia and 217 Commercial[16]. Cyrus appears in a similar listing from a month earlier with no sign of Irvin[17].
Rebecca S (Timmons) Linson passed away on 29 April 1909[5][18] in Yellow Springs, Greene County, Ohio, United States[5][18].
