1885 Apr 28, Census Eugene E. Age 32, Farmer, wife Ella M. age 24 keeping house, son’s Harry E. age 5, George B. age 4, Dau. Mabel C. age 3.

1899 Enlisted.

1901 Discharged.

1905 Census, George age 24 Brakeman for C B & Q Railroad.

1905 Census E. E. TIMMONS age 52 living in Chariton, working as Janitor, residing with him was Charles, Ella May, Edith, Frank R., Fred, George, Harry Eugene, Hazel, Mabel, Myron.

1910 Census, George B. age 28, wife Leona age 22, son Bernard F. age 9/12, roomer Miss Bush, seamstress in factory.

1913 Aug 14, Herald Patriot-Chariton, IA: George House burns down: Had narrow Escape. Mr. & Mrs. George TIMMONS & four children, of Ottumwa, arrived in Chariton recently & are now domiciled at the home of her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Elric PETERSON. The house in which they were residing in Ottumwa, was completely destroyed about ten days ago by fire, together with all the contents & the family barely escaped in there night clothing. Mrs. TIMMONS, who had been ill, was first awakened by the fire, & in carrying her & their one week’s old baby out Mr. TIMMONS’ clothing caught on fire & he was slightly burned. He succeeded in getting all the children out, but states that he had hard work to save them as the house was all afire on the inside when discovered. If they had not all been sleeping downstairs some one of them would probably have lost their lives. Mr. TIMMONS carried $500 insurance on his goods, which will not near cover the loss. He did not own the house. ***

1939, age 58, after more than 34 years George retired as a switchman for the Burlington Railroad.

1950, age 68, listed in Des Moines, IA City Directory, house at 945-47 8th, apt 3.

Great Uncle George was Post Commander of the Spanish American War Veterans & state historian of Spanish American War Veterans, was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars post 3626, & was past president of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, no. 602.
