Biography

Edward Timmons was born on 20 Dec 1818 at Big Brook, Northeast Margaree, Inverness County Nova Scotia to Patrick Timmons and Marie Marguerite Benoit. He married Janet Hingley about 1849 in Nova Scotia. Children: John, Alexander, James Edward (Ned), Alline, Joshua, Edward Wilson, Christina, Mary, Cathrine, Elizabeth (Eliza), Margaret. He died of a stroke on 4 Feb 1884 in Pleasant Bay, Inverness, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Edward Timmons (48) is on the 1871 census with wife Jean (42) and their large family; John (21), James (20), Alline (17), Joshua (13), Edward (11), Christina (8), Mary (6), Catherine (4), and Eliza (2).[1]

Edward Timmons (63) is on the 1881 census with wife Jane (52) and their family; W. Edward (20), Catherine (14), Elizabeth (8), and Margaret (6).[2] Close by are sons James, Alline and John. James Timmons (30) with his wife Sara (32) and their children; Amy (8), Donald (6), David (4) and Jane (1). Alline Timmons (25) with wife Hellen (20) and their children; George (2), and Joseph (8 months). John Timmons (31) with wife Catherine (23) and their children; Edward (6), Kenneth (4) and Mary J (3).
