Biography

On 28 January 1864 George was christened at North Cave, York. Parents William and Eleanor Tindle.^[1]

In the 1871 census of Broomfleet, Yorkshire, George is 7. His father William is a farmer, working 30 acres. His uncle George, 37 is also a farmer, working 28 acres.^[2]

On 16 September 1895 Maria Amelia McCabe and George Tindle were married. ^[3]

MR. GEORGE TINDLE.
A resident of Hamilton for the past 25 years, Mr. George Tindle died on November 6. He was born at Bloomfleet, England, 70 years ago, and arrived in New Zealand in 1877, by the ship Tainui. For a long period Mr. Tindle was county clerk at Manaia, and later secretary to the Taranaki Co-operative Dairy Company. He had held the commission of justice of the peace for 40 years. There are two sons, Mr. George Tindle (Auckland) and Mr. Egmont Tindle (Frankton),

George Tindle is buried with Amelia in plot RC-E-736 at the Hamilton East Cemetery, Waikato. ^[7]
