(From John James). John Argall's wife Jane Ann Tinney was said to have refused to go out again after losing her son but I remember her well. She died in August 1945, and her only nephew was killed in Normandy in 1944, so she had nothing but cousins after that which included my own grandmother so that is how I knew them. There is a picture of John Argall in the book 'St Columb Minor Memories and Parish History' which I was involved in.
After her husband's death, she lived with her brother, David, at 105 Church Street, St Columb Minor.
DEATH: Death is recorded in GRO indexes for the St Columb Registration District, under reference 5c 91 for September quarter of 1945. Age recorded as 83.
