John Edward Tinney[1] was born on June 30, 1884, in Cobb, Georgia, the child of Amariah Tinney and Susan Ridgeway. He Mattie C Whitehead, date unknown. He died on September 5, 1958[2], in Chattooga, Georgia, at the age of 74, and was buried in Trion, Georgia[3].
