Marvin R. Tippit
West Monroe - Services for Mr. Marvin R. Tippit, 92, of West Monroe will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2002, at the Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel in West Monroe with the Rev. Dennis Anger, Rev. Raymond Cheeks, and Rev. Terry Adams officiating. Burial will follow approximately around 3:45 p.m. at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Bastrop, La.
Mr. Tippit died April 26, 2002 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center. Mr. Tippit was born October 26, 1909 in Simpson, La. and had resided in Bastrop, La. most of his life and for the past three years lived in West Monroe. He was retired from International Paper Company and was a minister of the Church of God for more than 50 years.
Wives, Frances Wright Tippit and Shirley Bennett Tippit, son, Kent Tippit, his parents, nine brothers and sisters preceded Mr. Tippit in death.
Survivors include adopted son, Larry Hogue and wife, Carolyn of West Monroe; two granddaughters, Pam Kelly and husband, Jeff of Carrollton, Texas and Christina Carter and husband, Roger of West Monroe; two great-grandchildren, Caston and Noah Carter of West Monroe; sister, Pearl Cooley of DeRidder; two step-daughters, Brenda vaughn of Dry Prong, La. and Kathy Houdeshel of Sandy, Utah; six step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Marvin McConnell, Victor Wright, Donald Glosup, Elroy Glosup, Homer Glosup, and Leo Duchesne. Visitation will be 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2002 at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Cypress Street Church of God Building Fund or to the Gideons International.
