Margaret Tipton was born about 1796 in Kentucky, United States, daughter of Benjamin B. Tipton (~1780–1847) and Eleanor Ramsey (1780-1856). Margaret (20) married Abijah O'Neal (18) (born about December 9, 1798 in Logan, Kentucky; son of Abijah O'Neall and Ann (Kelly) O'Neal) in 1817 in Poke Bayou, Batesville, Independence.[1] Their children were:
- Polly A O'Neal (~1815–1849)
- Charles O'Neal (1821–1873)
- Phoebe O'Neal (1825–1851)
- Elvira Elva Jane O'Neal (1827-1914)
- Melissa O'Neal (1828-1895)
