There are multiple claims in online trees that this profile is a son of Jonathan Tipton and Eleanor Bryant instead of William Tipton (1719-1797). I could find no definitive evidence either way. Jonathan Tipton definitely had a son named Jonathan because he is mentioned in a land patent after the father's death. See profile Jonathan Tipton Jr (abt.1753-) for the sources related to the son of Tipton/Bryant. If they are found to be the same person and neither are a son of William, then please merge. I was unable to find definitive evidence at this time. Tucker-11084 16:36, 15 April 2022 (UTC)
