I looked at our Wikitree connection after your comments about Narrogin. The closest linkage is via the very Cornish Lethlayan/Leathlean/Lethlean/Lathlean family of my mother-in-law (someone who was a registered nurse in Narrogin in 1955)
Narrogin was home to my maternal grandparents, Walter Brothers and Sarah Reeder, who, along with their 2 children Eileen and Ron, migrated from the London area in 1911 (before the census ... drat!). They went to the Echuca area in Vic and walked off the land during a drought. From there they were sponsored and moved to Narrogin.
The Lethleans are on my father's side. His eldest brother Arthur Tissott married a Lethlean and they lived in Fremantle for many years. Some of their children and grandchildren still live in Freo. I've 2 first cousins whose mother was a Lethlean and we're in occasional contact. One is at Bull Creek in WA, the second in Brisbane and I'm in the US. And we're all getting on in years. In fact, there are only 6 of us left from that generation - my brother and sister, myself, the 2 cousins just mentioned and another cousin who is the daughter of an aunt.
So, if we look at connections the way WikiTree does we are certainly connected by a marriage or two.
I'm following up my post on your profile about your interest in continuing as an active member of the Australia Project. We really hope you would like to stay involved and look forward to hearing from you as soon as convenient.
The Australia Project page has the list of teams for you to review, as well as our minimal requirements for active membership. If you have decided that you don't have time to contribute at the moment, that is absolutely fine too, and you can rejoin whenever you wish.
On behalf of the Australia Project leadership team, we're carrying out a Project Members Check-in to see if you are still interested in being involved as an active member of the project. In particular, we are ready to launch our new teams for the project. Please could you let me know what team/s you would like to contribute to.
A list of teams is on the Australia Project page. Please respond by private message.
We really appreciate your enthusiasm in working on Australian profiles on WikiTree, and thank you for all the work you have been doing. We look forward to hearing back from you and that you will decide to be part of the project as we move forward with the new teams for the project.
Thank you so much for responding to our check-in for the Southern Colonies and Southern Pioneers
We are sorry to hear that you are not currently active, but we understand that life happens and interests shift as we grow our shared tree and that some members may have moved on to projects more pertinent to the branches they are currently building.
The badge will be removed.
Please know that you will always be welcome to rejoin the project should your interests shift back in this direction.Thank you so much for your participation; we genuinely appreciate it.
We realise the time has come to dissolve the UK Project in favour of the individual country projects of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
We are checking in with all UK badge holders to find out which country project(s) you would like to be in so you can collaborate with other members, have the opportunity to select which team(s) you would like to join, and so we can ensure you have all the correct badges.
Please respond by PM to let us know which country project(s) you would like to be in. Please dont assume we know. We are effectively starting from scratch to make sure no one falls through the cracks.
Once you have done this, the Coordinator for Membership in the relevant country project(s) will be in touch to help get you situated.
I usually do interim saves, but for some reason I forgot. Maybe I was so intent on writing it before I forgot it. I'm sure the rewrite left out some "really good stuff". :(
Im Natalie, leader of the Categorization Project. Please have a look at the revamped Categorization Project page, specifically about the new team approach. Members will be now be part of the Maintenance Team. Project Liaisons and leaders will be involved in the Vision and Collaboration team. Please contact me within the next week to let me know if you would like to remain an active member of the project. If I dont hear back from you I will assume you no longer want to be a part of the Categorization Project.
