Jacob Titsoort was born about 1687 in Schenectady, Albany County, Province of New York, son of Willem Abrahamsz (<1648–1722) and Neeltje Teunise Swart (~1654–1723).

Jacob (28) married Sara van Heyningen (20) (born before June 23, 1695 in New Amsterdam, New York; daughter of Claes Janszen (Heijning) van Heyningen and Janneken Kiers) on April 14, 1716 in Kingston, Ulster, New York.
