SO I'M CONVINCED.....Part of my research has been to map my DNA matches from both Ancestry and MyHeritage through their direct ancestors in a research family tree, along with records, documents, newspaper articles and information from published family histories. DNA mapping showed a strong connection to Timothy TITUS and Charity LOSEE - with 7 DNA Matches. It also produced more matches (12) to Jacob TITUS and Margaret GORMON. DNA data (centimorgans/segments) suggested that my 4 x Great Grandfather Frederick TITUS (b. 1768) was likely a grandson of Timothy TITUS and Charity LOSEE. Further there was a high prevalence of DNA Matches whose ancestry had originated in Nova Scotia. Taking all of this into account, I concluded that the most probable father of Frederick TITUS would be Captain Isaac TITUS b. 25 Jun 1747, Bedford, Westchester, NY. d. 5 Mar 1818, Centreville, Digby, Nova Scotia; son of Timothy TITUS and Charity LOSEE. Taking a punt, I attached the said Isaac TITUS to my Ancestry DNA linked family tree as my 5 x Great Grandfather. After waiting approximately 48 hours for the information to update, I checked the Ancestry ThruLines DNA feature and was excited to see that I had been linked with a further 10 DNA matches. Whilst I am aware that this is deduction does not have records to back it up, I am confident that this is the correct connection and I would be interested to hear if anyone else has any evidence to either substantiate or negate this theory. DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Isaac by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Isaac:
