From 1937 to 1940, payments were made in one-lump sums amounts with the first amount being seventeen cents. Following amendments in 1939, the payments turned into monthly benefits and increased. Following further amendments in 1950, cost-of-living increases were awarded to those who were receiving benefits. From 1950 to the present, benefits have increased yearly in response to inflation concerning the costs of living. https://www.myheritage.com/research/collection-10002/us-social-security-death-index-ssdi?s=234878051&itemId=6406143-&action=showRecord&indId=individual-234878051-1500634 Certainty: 3 Maude A Rice Birth: June 13 1909 Death: July 1988 Last residence: Norwich, New York 13815, USA SSN issuing state: New York

Source: S52 1910 United States Federal Census (MyHeritage) Note: Federal census takers were asked to record information about every person who was in each household on the census day. A census taker might have visited a house on a later date, but the information he collected was supposed to be about the people who were in the house on the census day. The basic census enumeration unit was the county. Each county was divided into enumeration districts, one for each enumerator. The completed forms were sent to the Commerce Department?s Census Office in Washington, D.C. Federal censuses are usually reliable, depending on the knowledge of the informant and the care of the census enumerator. Information may have been given to a census taker by any member of the family or by a neighbor. Some information may have been incorrect or deliberately falsified. http://www.myheritage.com/research/collection-10132/1910-united-states-federal-census?s=234878051&itemId=153712210-&groupId=de83cf445adf618a240e6d320e17cb38&action=showRecord&indId=individual-234878051-1500634 Certainty: 3 Maud A Tobey Gender: Female Birth: Circa 1900 - New York, United States Residence: 1910 - Smyrna, Chenango, New York, USA Age: 10 Marital status: Single Race: White Ethnicity: American Father: Edmund P Tobey Mother: Lucy J Tobey Siblings: Harriet L Tobey, Marion N Tobey, John S Tobey Census: Township:SmyrnaSeries:T624Image:1140 County:ChenangoSheet:6-A State:New YorkFamily:132 Date:1910-00-00Line:2 See household members research/collection-10132/1910-united-states-federal-census?s=234878051&itemId=153712205-&groupId=de83cf445adf618a240e6d320e17cb38&action=showRecord (Edmund P Tobey); 32 Wife; research/collection-10132/1910-united-states-federal-census?s=234878051&itemId=153712206-&groupId=de83cf445adf618a240e6d320e17cb38&action=showRecord (Lucy J Tobey); 29 Daughter; research/collection-10132/1910-united-states-federal-census?s=234878051&itemId=153712210-&groupId=de83cf445adf618a240e6d320e17cb38&action=showRecord (Maud A Tobey); 10 Daughter; research/collection-10132/1910-united-states-federal-census?s=234878051&itemId=153712207-&groupId=de83cf445adf618a240e6d320e17cb38&action=showRecord (Harriet L Tobey); 9 Daughter; research/collection-10132/1910-united-states-federal-census?s=234878051&itemId=153712208-&groupId=de83cf445adf618a240e6d320e17cb38&action=showRecord (Marion N Tobey); 4 Son; research/collection-10132/1910-united-states-federal-census?s=234878051&itemId=153712209-&groupId=de83cf445adf618a240e6d320e17cb38&action=showRecord (John S Tobey); 2
