Biography
Mary Agatha Tobin was born before 1880.
She married unknown Gough. They had three children.
She married British soldier, Hubert John Foster, on 16th January 1904 at the British consulate, Venice, Italy. They had one son, Brigadier Sir John Galway Foster KBE, who they left with a governess when they travelled to Australia for work and then settled.
From 1906 Mary and Hubert lived in Australia; Hubert active in military education until his death in 1919 at Carlaminda via Cooma (between Canberra and the Snowy Mountains).
In the 1911 census Mary (age 40) was a married wife at 17 and 18 1 Flat At Hyde Park Mansions, 159 Knightsbridge, St Margaret and St John, London, England.[1]
Mary died on 12 October 1940 at Ruthin Castle, Ruthin, Wales, aged 70 [2] and probate was to the solicitors for John Galway Foster.[3]
