Interesting note: Namesake: Polish last names were most often derived from places, family patriarchs or nicknames. Names derived from places usually ended in -ski, meaning "of", and were reserved for nobility.
Note: Know all info as fact since it is myself.

Thank you for adding your DNA Test to your profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.
DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. To get the best results, you need to start with yourself and add sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to existing profiles in WikiTree. 24 hours later, your test will have populated on the profiles of your ancestors and their descendants, where others with potential matches may also appear.
Let me know if you have any questions, and have fun!

This is how to download a GEDCOM from Ancestry. When you log in to Ancestry click on your tree and select the tree setting, on the right hand side under manage your tree click on export your tree and that will start the GEDCOM, it takes a few minutes, once it has downloaded you can then upload it on here. It will take a few minutes to upload, and you will get a message through when it is ready. The GEDCOM will not automatically populate your tree, it generates a GEDCOMpare report which you work through either accepting or rejecting suggested matches, once you have done this any remaining names will need to be added manually. Sometimes there can be a hiccup in the system when downloading a GEDCOM, the last time I did one, it took 3 attempts to download it
There is a limit of 5000 names with the GEDCOM.
One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that others found very helpful. I hope that you will too.
This link will help you with Adding your DNA to your profile, Getting started with DNA outlines how to proceed to use your DNA test information on WikiTree and DNA is a link to a collection of links about WikiTree's many features involving DNA.
The DNA Connections list on your profile will provide a visual way for you to find potential relatives on WikiTree who have also added their DNA test information. Using DNA tools at sites like GEDMatch.com, if you find a relative that matches your DNA sufficiently and you have genealogical sources for the intermediate relationships, you can mark the specific parental relationships back to the most recent ancestor that you both share as "confirmed with DNA." For details, guidance, and examples of how to properly document DNA confirmations, see DNA confirmation.
To get the best results, begin adding sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to ancestors already in WikiTree. If you have exhausted what you know on one line, it can sometimes help to add what you know on another line. The more branches you are able to add the greater the likelihood of finding potential cousins to match with. The process of identifying which branch elements of DNA relate to will better enable you to find matches that relate to the particular branches you are researching.
With your mothers DNA, she would need to create her own account with us, members are no longer allowed to add another persons DNA to the site, due to privacy laws that came out in 2018.
I hope this helps, any problems, please let me know
Take care Karen
