Caroline Jane Tod married Thomas Graham Murray, Esquire, Writer to the Signet, in Edinburgh on 19 Dec 1848, when she was 22 years old. A transcription from the referenced Scotland's People document image shows her marriage recorded as follows: Murray & Tod: Thomas Graham Murray, Esquire, Writer to the Signet, Residing in No. 4 Glenfinlas Street, and Miss Caroline Jane Todd, Residing in No. 14 Ainslie Place, both in this Parish, daughter of John Tod, Esquire, Writer to the Signet, residing there, have been Three several Times duly and regularly claimed in the Parish Church of St Cuthbert’s, in order to marriage, and no objections offered. Married on the Nineteenth day of December current by the Rev’d Robert Horne Stevenson, Minister of the Parish of Saint George’s, Edinburgh. [2]
She had one child, a son, Andrew Graham Murray, born 21 November 1849, when she was 23 years old. She died, widowed and testate, at her home at 11 Randolph Crescent, Edinburgh, Scotland on 17 April 1906. She was 79 years old. An inventory of her estate filed in an Edinburgh court on 26 June 1906 lists her personal property interests at the time of her death, which by her last will and testament she assigned to her son Andrew Graham Murray as the sole beneficiary of her estate. She was buried at Dean Cemetery in Edinburgh. [5]
