Born in Brooklyn NY of Scottish descent and was an expert cabinet maker in charge of such work at Auburn Prison, Auburn, NY. He and Jane later moved to Kingston, Ontario, Canada, where he was in charge of the same work in the prison there. Died and buried there about 1875. All children born in Canada.
