DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:
There are problems with the information about the wives of William John Todd. Some say her name was Margaret Dougal. I can't find any source for that choice. The choice I made is the information found on searches on FamilySearch.org. Still there is no marriage certificate or other hard source. I submit the URL for a newspaper article that says his last wife was named Hannah.
