Biography

Hiram was born in 1795. Son of Thomas Todd Jr. and Betty Daggett. He married 1828 Lydia Church and they had children. He was a doctor, graduated from Dayton, Ohio Medical College in the year 1826, was surgeon's mate of 1st. Regt. of 2nd. Brigade of 1st. Division of Ohio State Militia. In 1829 he was Associate Judge of Cass County, Ind. He moved to Illinois in 1835, and was the first postmaster at Rockville. He owned large tracts of land in Kankakee and Iroquois Counties. He passed away in 1849.
