Biography

Constantin was born 1864 in Romania. He immigrated to the USA where he enlisted in the US Navy on Feb 1886 at League Island, Pennsylvania. Constantin became a naturalized citizen on 1 Feb 1895 at New York. He married Louisa Flynn on 17 Dec 1896 at Kings, New York and had one child with her: Philomina F. Constantin was serving aboard the USS Maine as a Fireman First Class when the ship was sent to Havana, Cuba in Feb 1898 to help protect American interests there. He was killed when the ship exploded in the Havana Harbor during the USS Maine Disaster.
