Biography

Harriet Tomkins was baptized on 3 Feb 1828 in Henbury, St. Mary, Gloucestershire, the daughter of George and Ann Tomkins. ^[1]

According to the 1881 census, Harriet was born in Westbury-on-Trym (a neighbouring suburb to Henbury).

In the 1841 census, she was living with her mother and siblings: ^[2]

On 28 Apr 1850 she married Charles Bennet in Westbury-on-Trym. ^{[3] [4]}

Research Notes

As well, there is a Harriet Tomkins, daughter of George and Annie, who died 13 Oct 1914; this could be our Harriet, although it would be more likely if it gave her surname as Bennett. ^[5]
