Biography

Sinclair was born about 1804. He was the son of William Tomlin and Sarah Wright. He married young and was listed in Brown County, Ohio with a wife and male child under the age of 5 during the census of 1830. He was again listed there in Huntington Twp. with his wife, the son aged 10-15, two female children aged 10-15, and two females children aged 5-10 years. The latter two were listed as Sophia M. Tomlin, aged 18, and Hester Tomlin, aged 15, during the 1850 census. Sinclair then had no wife in his household.

Sinclair remarried to Sophronia Kilgore in 1855. His 1860 household, then in Adams County, Ohio, indicates the couple had numerous additional children born to their marriage. In 1870 Sinclair and Sophrona were residing in Clinton County, Illinois. He was there listed at age 68. It is possible he died in Illinois.
