Charlotte Tompkins was born on February 18, 1837 at Hyde Park, Dutchess, New York^[1][2] and baptized on February 11, 1838 at Hyde Park Reformed Church, Hyde Park, Dutchess, New York^[3] She married William H. Cronk on November 26, 1856.^[4]
