Biography

Edward was born in 1607. Edward Toney ... He passed away about 1638. Some family trees have his wife listed as Agnes Dickerson b. 1617. Edward Toney arrived to, the New World, America in early 17th Century with his brothers (Edward, William & John). His brother John lived in Massachusetts. They are direct descendants of Ralph de Toeni of Normandy France. Likely from Robert Toney of Bromsberrow (1238, son of Petronius Lacy) who was the first who dropped the “de” Surname TONEY. Prior to their French history, the family line origins came from Norway, a Viking who had served under the Viking Red & Uncle of Rollo. The Toney Family Reunion was held in West Virginia, which included an invitation to cousin “Ike” President Dwight Eisenhower, see Harrison Toney.
