Agnes was born 1850 in Cury, Cornwall, England. She was the daughter of John Tonkin and Eliza Hendy. ^{[1] [2]}

She was baptised the same day as her siblings Elizabeth, Samuel and Thomas on 24 February 1854 in Cury, Cornwall. ^[3]

With her family, she emigrated to Australia on the Rajasthan, arriving in New South Wales in 1855 ^[4]

She married John Anderson Jamieson in 1868 in New South Wales. ^[5]

Agnes passed away age 69 in 1918 ^[6] and was buried in Rookwood General Cemetery. ^[7]
