Jane Tonkin married John Parsons on 20 October 1815 in Madron, Cornwall, England.^[1]

1841 England, Scotland, and Wales Census

In 1841, Jane, aged 45 and John, aged 50, lived in Boscrease in Germoe, Cornwall with their children: Elizabeth (25), Caroline (20), Thomas (15), Mary (15), Margaret (12), William (10), James (8), Henry (6), John (2), and an Elizabeth Parson (1) (possibly a grand-child as her daughter Elizabeth is also present at the residence).^[2]

Death

Jane (Jennifer) Parsons died age 47 and was buried 20 Jan 1842 in Germoe, Cornwall ^{[3] [4]}

Research Notes

• Possibly not the daughter of Thomas and Jane, there is a Jane Tonkin daughter of Richard and Mary baptised 8 Jun 1797 St Just in Penwith; as Richard Tonkin is a witness, she could perhaps be Jane the wife of John Parsons.

Jane's date of death/burial was previously set as 30 Jan 1842 in Germoe, Cornwall. However, reviewing OPC Cornwall's records, there were two sets of John Parsons' in Germoe producing children at the same time: John Parsons and Jane Tonkin, and John Parsons and Jennifer. While it is possible that this precludes Jane and Jennifer from being the same individual with a given name and a preferred name, it is uncertain if this is actually the case. Case in point: two children named John Parsons are born:

1. John Parsons, son of John and Jane, bapt. 11 March 1839 in Breage, Cornwall.
2. John Parsons, son of John and Jennifer, bapt. 24 March 1839 in Germoe, Cornwall.

There are no records found so far of another Jane and John Parsons marriage, or of a Jennifer and John Parsons. However, census records tie the other known children together. Adding to the confusion, both Johns are given as Dairymen, and both are residing in Boscreage. More research is needed to confirm the correct date of death/burial. Marking as uncertain. S.
