Jacob Tonkin was born in Cornwall, England.

Jacob, son of Jacob and Jenifer Tonkin, was baptised 17 January 1756 in St Agnes, Cornwall, England. [1] [2]

He married Mary Nankivell James on 5 June 1784 in St Agnes, witnesses were Mark James and John Sampson (husband of Jacob's sister Prudence). [3]

Mary Tonkin wife of Jacob was buried 19 December 1786 in St Agnes, Cornwall. [4]

His second marriage was to Prudence Webb on 25 May 1788 in St Agnes, witnesses were Stephen Gripe and William Roberts. [5]

In 1841 Jacob Tonkin age 85 is living in Trevellas Coomb, St Agnes with his son Stephen 35 and his family. [6]

Jacob Tonkin died age 87 on 6 July 1842 and was buried on 8 July 1842 in St Agnes, Cornwall. [7]

Deaths. At Trevellas Coombe St Agnes on Wednesday the 6th instant Mr Jacob Tonkin aged 87 years [8]
