Sampson TOOP was baptised on 7th April 1844 at St Andrew's, Whitchurch, Devonshire. He married Emma BIDGOOD in the fourth quarter of 1868 in Tavistock Registration District, Devonshire.
Sampson emigrated to Canada in 1874 and by 1876 had made his way to Chilliwack in the Fraser valley. In 1901 he was a farmer and in 1918 was described as a 'farmer raising poultry'.
Sampson passed away on 4th August 1927, aged 83 years. He was buried on the 18th August 1927 in Carmen Cemetery, Sardis, British Columbia.
