Biography
Joshua was born 14 June 1725 in Weymouth, Massachusetts. He was the son of Joshua Torrey and Jane Lovell. [1]
He married Miriam Tirrell on August 7, 1745, in his hometown.[2] They had at least three children, all born in Weymouth:
- Naomi Torrey (26 Mar 1747 -- 9 Dec 1748)
- Lemuel Torrey (10 Dec 1749- Dec 1798)
- Joshua Torrey (11 Dec 1758 -?)
He died on February 8, 1796, in Weymouth, Massachusetts at the age of 70, and was buried there in North Weymouth Cemetery.[3]
His will dated 11 April 1795 mentions a beloved wife, unnamed, son Joshua Torrey, grandson Simeon Torrey, grandchildren(?) Deborah Torrey, Ruth Torrey, Reuben Torrey. Son Lemuel Torrey named executor. Witnessed by Simon Lovell, David Ford and Jonathan Pratt Junr. [4]
