Biography

Josiah Torrey (Sr) was born on November 1, 1755.

Josiah served in the Revolutionary war and settled in Plainfield, Massachusetts "as early as 1785". ^[1] Generations of Torrey: Josiah Jr, his father Josiah Sr, his father Thomas, his father Phillip, William (Jr or 2nd)), his father Capt. William are all Torrey's. ^[1]

His wife, Olive (Pratt) Torrey (~1751-1819), died July 15, 1819. All of his known children were born before the death of Olive Pratt. ^[1]

Josiah Sr's children were probably born in Abington. ^[1]
