Biography
Gaspard was born in 1828. He was a woodworker (carpenter). Il était menuisier de métier.
He had a brother of the same name born 1811-06-30 in Champlain. So that earlier brother certainly died before 1828 when this second one was born.
Joseph Gaspard was still in Canada as of 1878 based on the birth of his son on 09/04/1878 in Tiny, Simcoe, ON. By 1880 he had moved to Polk, MN and is found in the 1880 US Census there. He was still in MN in 1885 for the MN State Census and was recorded in Lake Pleasant, Polk, MN.
His son, Hilarion Joseph Toutant is my great grandfather. He married Melina Charron.
His children seem to have lived and died in the USA.
