Samuel was born in 6 Mar. 1814. was sentenced at Somerset Wells in 1842 (larceny at Midsomer Norton Fair) and transported per Earl Grey to Van Diemens Land/Tasmania in 1842.
In the convict records it states that Samuel was 26 years, born Horfield, butcher & gardener living in Bristol for last 8 years with Sarah Bailey and they had 1 child: his father was Job - living at NP (ie Horfield), 1 brother - William, 6 sisters -Eliza, Clara, Harriet, Mary, Ellen & Isabella and cousin Jeremiah (convicted life - for highway robbery).
Later Samuel named his children Ellen, Isabella, Samuel, Martha Harriet & Frederick George Bendall.

Samuel died on 11 January 1909 and was buried in Cornelian Bay Cemetery And Crematorium, Hobart, Hobart City, Tasmania, Australia.[1]
