Descendant of Gideon Towns.

James was born about 1844 to Johnson C Towns and Rebecca Brown. He had at least 3 siblings: Rebecca Ann, Gideon, and Elijah; and 3 half-siblings: Elisha Edward, Jeremiah M, and Daniel Richard.
