Pierless Rudolph Townsend was born in 1883 ^[1]at Parkes, New South Wales, Australia. He was the son of Thomas George Townsend and Mary Jane Townsend. He was the brother of Blanche Gertrude (Townsend) Vidler, Clement Thomas Townsend, Elizabeth Townsend, Theodore Townsend, Hector R Townsend, Manuel R Townsend and Eunice Ruth Townsend. Pierless was 36 years old when he died on 4 March 1921 ^[2] at Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia.
