Biography

William was born on 28th March 1858 at Derry Hill in Wiltshire.[1]. He can also be found on the Birth Index as William Townsend June quarter of 1858 at Calne in Wiltshire.[2] volume 5a page 71. He was the son of William Townsend and Ann Brittain.

William married on 29th November 1885 at Christ Church, Notting Hill, Kensington and Chelsea.[5][6]William Townsend 26 bachelor a Coach Smith of 147 Southam Street father William Townsend Fruiterer deceased, and Sarah Ann Holtorn 21 spinster of same address father John Charles Holturn a Bricklayer were married this day after banns. Witnessed by George Woodman and Liley Holtorn.
