Biography

Daniel was born about 1756. He is the son of John Townsend and Anne Gedney. He was married to Rebecca Ward, daughter of John Ward of East Chester. ^[1] It was said that they were the handsomest couple in Westchester County. ^[2] Daniel was named joint executor of his father's will in which he received the bulk of the property and a Negro man Newport. ^[3]
