Biography

Wesley was born 5 Nov 1902 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.^[1] He was the son of Frank Townsend and Jessie Hall. ^[2]

In 1910 he was living in Chattanooga Ward 1, Hamilton, Tennessee.^[3] The household included Frank H Townsend age 40 born in New York, wife Jessie C Townsend age 30 born in Ohio, son Wesley Townsend age 7 born in Tennessee and daughter Emma R Townsend age 5 born in Tennessee. Frank was a foreman at a foundry.

On 10 Jul 1913 Frank H Townsend, Mrs. Jennie C Townsend, Master Wesley H Townsend age 10 and Miss Emma R Townsend age 8 arrived at New Orleans, Louisana from Puerto Limon, Costa Rica. Both Wesley and Emma were born in Chattanooga, Tennessee.^[4]

On 1 July 1919 he was working as a checker in municipal engineering in Gatun, Panama Canal Zone.^[1]
