Ann was born about 1817. She passed away about 1865. Her parents are either George Townsley and Emma Galbraith or John Townsley and Mary Emmeline Blair.

When Ann was about 21 she married William Gilbraith James on 4 November 1838 in Athens, McMinn, Tennessee, United States. The couple had one child: Ernest Virginia James.[2]

On 4 November 1838 Ann (age about 21) was living in Tennessee, United States.[2]

In the 1850 census Ann (age about 33) was living in Post Oak, Johnson, Missouri, United States.[3]

In the 1860 census Ann (age about 43) was living in Sugarloaf, Marion, Arkansas, United States.[4]
