Biography
Amelia was born in Chilton Polden, Somerset and was baptised there on 11 April 1824.[1] She married John Pople on 20th September 1849 in Mark, Somerset.[2][3] By 1851, she was living in Chilton Polden, Somerset.[4] By 1861, the family had moved to Chetton, Somerset,[5] but had returned to Chilton Polden by 1871.[6] Amelia died in 1880; the death was registered in Bridgwater.[7] She was buried in Chilton Polden on 29th January 1880.[8]

Amelia's father at baptism was named in the Register as John, but as Joseph when she married. It is supposed at this point that her mother remarried to John's brother Joseph on 7 August 1826 in Bedminster and Amelia was raised as his daughter but this cannot be confirmed.
