Biography

Evaline Traber was born March 10, 1825 in New York. She was baptized in the Presbyterian Church in New Scotland, Albany County, New York. She was the daughter of Peter & Harriet Traber.

Evaline Traber married Hiram Becker before 1848, when their 1st child was born in New York. His parents are unknown.

Evaline Traber & Hiram Becker moved to Wisconsin before 1853, where daughter Harriett was born.

In June, 1860, Evaline Traber & Hiram Becker were living in Platteville, Grant County, Wisconsin. His personal estate was valued at $500.00 ($14,085.32). Enumerated in the household were:

Hiram Becker registered for the draft on July 1, 1863 in Platteville, Grant County, Wisconsin. On January 31, 1865, he enlisted in Company K, Wisconsin 47th Infantry Regiment. He mustered out on September 4, 1865 at Nashville, Tennessee.

Hiram Becker and family moved to Sullivan County, Missouri in 1867.
