Marie-Josephe GRANGER, widow TRAHAN, 3 sons, 2 daughters, were enumerated at: Paimboeuf, Loire-Atlantique, Pays-de-la-Loire, France in September 1784. They appear on a list of "Acadians in France, September 1784," document in A.D.S. Legajo 2575, which shows the Acadian families who want to go to Louisiana to establish themselves at the expense of His [Spanish] Catholic Majesty". They are on the list from Paimboeuf. Jean Baptiste would have been in his early 20s.

Jean Baptiste TRAHAN was age 25, a carpenter, traveling as the 6th family (of 5 persons) with his widowed mother and three siblings aboard the ship Le Beaumont. They embarked for Louisiana on 11 Jun 1785 and debarked on 19 Aug 1785. The Spanish debarkation list has him as Juan Bautista TRAHAM, head of the household including his mother and three siblings.
