Simon Trahan is a descendant of an Acadian

Simon Anaclet Trahan, son of Chrysostome Trahan Madeleine Guedry, was born in Louisiana and christened in Plattenville, Assumption Parish on 21 April 1808.[1]

Simon (age 27) married Emilite Trahan (age 25) daughter of Jean Trahan and Anne LeJeuneon 2 March 1835 in Thibodaux, Lafourche, Louisiana. [2]Their children were:

In the 1850 census Simonette (age 45), Farmer, real estate $1,000, lived with his wife Elilie (age 36), their sons Jean (age 13), Marcial (age 11), Ozieme (age 9), Elether (age 7), Washington (age 5), Ellis (age 1) in Terrebonne, Louisiana, United States.[8]

In the 1860 census Simonette (age 53), farmer, real estate $1,000, personal property $400, lived with his wife Emely, their sons Marcial (age 22), Ozieme (age 20), Elether (age 16), these three helping as farm laborers, Washington (age 14), Ellis (age 11), their daughter Julia (age 6), at 12th Ward, Terrebonne, Louisiana, United States. Paul Bellocy (age 25) from France, personal property $200, a school teacher also lived with them. Emely could not read or write.[9]

In the 1870 census Simonet (age 65) widowed, lived with his oldest son John (age 35), farmer, his daughter-in-law Victorine (age 30), their daughters Celestine (age 10), Cecilia (age 8), Octavia (age 6), and son Alcide (age 4) in Ward Two, St. Mary, Louisiana, United States.[10]

In the 1880 census Simeon (age 80), Farmer, lived with his second wife Mary (age 58) and his daughter Julia (age 42) at 9th Ward, Terrebonne, Louisiana, United States.[11]
