NOTE: Mary Sarah Southwick Trask b 1636 d 1696, could not possibly be the mother of Osmond Trask b 1622ish, whose mother is not known anyway. I have disconnected her. Her bio says she was the wife of Capt William Trask. Capt William Trask did not have a son Osmond.{src: The Great Migration Begins}

Note: There is no proven relationship between William as brother of Osmund. per the article on William in the Great Migration Begins. They have two entirely different fathers.

Biography

Mar 14, 1622, bapt. Osmond, son of Edward Traske, in East Coker, Somerset, England.^[1][2]

Osman Trask married 2d Eliza[beth] Gally, May 22, 1663. CT. R.^[3]

He died before 27 Mar 1677 (date of administration of will) in Beverly, Essex, Mass. His estate was left to his eldest son John, Osmond's wife Elizabeth, and his other eight children: Sarah & Mary, Samuel, Benjamin, Joseph, Elizabeth, William and Jonathan. It also provided for the unborn child of wife Elizabeth. The death date of before March 5, 1676 (stated in a previous version) needs sourcing.

First record found is his marriage in 1649 in Salem, Mass., where his first children were born and he was a proprietor and planter^[4] He later resided in Beverly, which had been part of Salem.

1665 made a deposition^[5] stating his age at about 38 (b. 1627). Another deposition in 1660 he was about age 35 (b 1625), both of these are not totally inconsistent with the 1622 baptism listed above.

Probate

Osmund Traske left no will, but administration of his estate was granted 27 Mar 1677 to Elizabeth Traske, his widow. An inventory was taken 5 Mar 1676 and valued at 841li. 9s. 5d, after debts were paid.(Ipswich Quarterly Court Records vo 5 p 288.) He had 57li. 1s.1d. debts. Distribution was made to John Trask, eldest son, and the other eight children, Sarah, Mary, Samuell, Benjamine, Joseph, Elizabeth, William and Jonathan, and the unborn child. 15 July 1695, John Giles and Elizabeth Gyles, alias Traske, made an accounting of portions paid to Joseph and Samuel Trask; Elizabeth Trask wife of Steven Herrick, William Trask, Benjamin Trask, Mary Friason, Sarah Holland, Edward Traske was still owed his share. (Essex County Probate Files Docket 28058.^[6]
