Edward TRAVERS was the son of John Stephen TRAVERS and ? Mary from Broken Hill, NSW. He was born in 1891. [1]
His father, John was born in 1854 in Conihy, County Kilkenny, Ireland - his parents were Nicholas and Anastacia Travers (nee CARROLL). He arrived in SA in 1874 - he lived for at least some time in Burra SA where he married Mary MURPHY on 1.2.1883. According to the Biographical Index of South Australians they had 8 children - Nicholas, John (1882-1963), Kathleen, Thomas. (188?-1958), Myra (-1966), Edward., Anastasia Alice BRADY (1899-1982), Eileen d.by 1982. John Stephen TRAVERS died on 24.6.1930 in Broken Hill NSW before the marriage of his son, Ed in Peterborough. Edward (Ed) TRAVERS married Dorothea (Dora) Smith on 29-Sep-1936 in St Anacletus Church Peterborough [2]
He died in 1990 at the age of 99 years [3] and is buried in North Brighton Cemetery
